Hill and Oak Farm began in 2019 as a passion project nestled in the rolling landscape of Avocado Heights, California. Nestled within a family-owned equestrian property with roots in breeding Andalusian horses and Mexican rodeo, the farm found its unlikely beginnings not with horses, but with field grown garden roses.
Founder Joey Corral was inspired to cultivate garden roses after discovering how well they thrived in Avocado Heights. What began as a small-scale experiment on his father’s ranch quickly grew into a full-fledged farming enterprise. With every successful bloom came a deeper obsession, and rows of roses began to take over more and more of the property.
Fueling Joey's growth was an eagerness to learn and connect. He's joined The Pacific Rose Society, began exhibiting in rose shows, and draws endless inspiration from English garden design and heritage rose varieties. A pivotal point in Joey's journey was completing Floret’s renowned online flower farming workshop, which provided essential tools and insights to scale his vision with confidence and clarity.
Since those early days, Hill and Oak Farm has blossomed into a thriving specialty cut flower farm with over 1,000 rose bushes and a dedicated team of 3. The farm supplies flowers to the Downtown Los Angeles Flower Market, select retail stores, and a network of talented florists who value the beauty and fragrance of locally-grown roses.
While roses remain the heart of the farm, Hill and Oak also grows other specialist cut flowers —always seeking new ways to bring joy and inspiration through flowers.
Today, Hill and Oak stands as a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and the beauty that grows when you follow your instincts, trust the process, and let nature lead.
